Sales

General Sales Manager

Purpose:
The General Sales Manager ensures that the dealership meets its new and used-car and truck unit sales quota and its gross objectives on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. S/he will ensure that the retail and fleet units sold produce sufficient gross to aid the dealership in reaching its profit objective on a monthly and yearly basis. She/he will accomplish these objectives through planning, organizing, and coordinating and measuring the activities of the New and Used sales Departments, as well as through inventory control.

Essential Duties:
Determine monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of unit sales, gross profit objectives and departmental profits. Strive to meet these goals. Ensure that all customers are "completely satisfied" and monitor and maintain excellent CSI scores. Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the Sales Department.

Qualifications:   
10 years of automotive sales experience. 5 years in a dealership management position.

New Car Sales Manager

Purpose:
Each New Car Sales Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the activities of their particular New Car Sales Department and for training, motivating and measuring the performance of the employees it the department.

Essential Duties:
Forecast goals and objectives for the department, establish means of achieving such goals, and strive to meet them.
Motivate the sales force, keeping an upbeat, positive attitude in the department.

Qualifications:   
A Minimum of Five Years sales management experience.
Supervisory experience required.
Self-motivated; able to effectively prioritize tasks and organize schedules.

Used Car Sales Manager

Purpose:  
The Used Car Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining a well­ balanced used-vehicle Inventory and selling each unit at a maximum gross with minimum expense. S/he will be responsible for appraising, reconditioning, displaying and merchandising the vehicles. S/he will set objectives for the department and accomplish them through planning, organizing, controlling and measuring the performance of the used-vehicle salespeople.

Essential Duties:  
Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
Maintain inventory (buying at auctions and selling off aged units)
Hire, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all used-vehicle sales employees.
Appraise all trade-ins (New and Used Car Department)

Qualifications:
One Year of used-vehicle sales experience.
Broad knowledge of all types of vehicles.
Supervisory experience preferred.

Finance and Insurance Manager

Purpose:
The Finance and Insurance manager is responsible for producing additional revenue for the dealership through the selling of finance and insurance programs and extended service contracts to new or used car and truck customers.

Essential Duties:
Sell financing and credit life, accident and health insurance, gap and etching to customers. Sell extended service contracts and all other after market items. Work closely with sales staff and sales management to secure a reasonable profit from each sale, both front and back gross.

Qualifications:
Degree or commensurate experience in finance. Knowledge of dealership finance and insurance procedures. Computer knowledge preferred. Excellent communications, interpersonal and selling skills.

Purpose:
The Used Car Special Finance Manager is responsible for producing additional revenue for the dealership through the selling of finance and insurance programs and extended service contracts to new or used car and truck customers through secondary lenders.

Essential Duties:
To secure financing for customers who cannot qualify for traditional financing through secondary and non-traditional financing sources .

Qualifications:
Degree or commensurate experience in finance. Knowledge of dealership finance and insurance procedures. Computer knowledge preferred.
Excellent communications, interpersonal and selling skills.

Salesperson

Purpose:
The primary function of a salesperson is to sell new and used vehicles to customers at dealership gross profit levels while maintaining an acceptable volume and customer service scores.

Essential Duties: 
Effectively sell new vehicles by communicating with the customer the benefits of ownership and unique qualities of the vehicle during the demonstration drive. Maintain prospective client lists, follow-up system, and customer service satisfaction.

Qualifications:
Previous sales experience (preferably in automobile sales), a professional appearance, excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, and good organization.

SERVICE

Service Manager

Purpose:
The Service Manager is responsible for maintaining an excellent service facility for customers while increasing profitability and gross service sales.

Essential Duties:
The Service Manager must be able to control costs, build a loyal clientele, manage employees and technicians, set and achieve sales and profit goals, and maintain service records.

Qualifications:
Two years of experience in an automobile repair facility (preferably in management), ASE certification, experience supervising employees, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to generate departmental sales and profit.

Cashier

Purpose: 
The cashier accepts payment from customers and closes service tickets at the cashier's window.

Essential Duties:
The cashier must be courteous, friendly and be able to represent the dealership in a professional manner. In addition, the cashier must be able to handle customer concerns. Finally, the cashier must be able to count and balance receipts on a daily basis.

Qualifications:
Two years' experience in a general office setting with some accounting knowledge preferred. The cashier must have excellent computer skills, good oral and written communication skills and a professional appearance.

Service Advisor

Purpose:
The Service Advisor is the first contact with the customer in the service area and is responsible for addressing customer care issues and for selling additional work to customers. The Service Advisor is also responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction scores.

Essential Duties:
The Service Advisor will greet all customers in the service aisle in a professional and courteous manner. Each customer's concern will be acknowledged and documented so that repairs can be completed in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, the Service Advisor will use the dealership tools in a manner that increases sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in sales in or in an automobile repair facility, ASE certification is preferred, general mechanical skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, computer skills and a professional demeanor and appearance.

 

Service Dispatcher

Purpose:
The Dispatcher is responsible for maintaining a proper & efficient work flow to each technician in the shop and insuring that all items on a repair order have been completed before returning the vehicle to the customer.

Essential Duties:
Receive all repair orders from the service advisor and dispatch them to the technicians, check the technicians work progress and monitor shop capacity.

Qualifications:
Two years of experience in a dealership repair facility, knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanical systems, ASE certification, excellent oral and written communication skills and professional appearance and demeanor.

Service Porter

Purpose:
The Service Porter is responsible for various duties in the shop including assisting with customer write-up, driving the shuttle van and responding to technician's requests for assistance.

Essential Duties:
Duties include tagging customer vehicles, driving the shuttle, picking up and making deliveries and performing other duties assigned by the service manager.

Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and good driving record, professional appearance, ability to handle machinery, and good oral communication skills.

General Service Technician

Purpose: 
The Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned and in accordance with the dealer and factory guidelines.

Essential Duties:
Receive work from service advisor or dispatcher and perform the repair as listed on the repair order, communicate with the parts department and obtain parts needed for the repair, and inform the service advisor of the status of the repatr.

Qualifications:
ASE certification preferred general mechanical skills, two years' experience in automobile repair or equivalent training, professional appearance and good oral and written communication skills.

Lube/Oil/Filter Technician

Purpose: 
The Lube, Oil, Filter technician is responsible for lubricating vehicles in the "quick lane" in a thorough, yet efficient, manner.

Essential Duties:
Perform all lube, oil, and filter services, perform a courtesy 27 point inspection, and check all fluid levels.

Qualifications:
ASE certification is preferred, general mechanical skills, experience in an automobile repair facility, and a professional appearance.

PARTS

Parts Manager

Purpose: 
The parts manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable parts department with the proper utilization of space, merchandise, advertising and personnel.

Essential Duties:
To develop parts sales and gross profit, control costs and inventory levels, and maintain price structures.

Qualifications:
Two years of experience in management in an automobile dealer parts department, experience supervising employees, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to generate departmental sales and profit.

Assistant Parts Manager

Purpose: 
To report to the Parts Manager and fill in as necessary when the manager is absent.

Essential Duties:
Performs a perpetual inventory, directs deliveries, maintains lost sales logs, assists customers, assists the technicians and other employees and assists with special order parts ordering.

Qualifications:
Experience in management in an automobile dealer parts department, experience supervising employees, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to generate departmental sales and profit.

Parts Department Counter Person

Purpose: 
To sell parts and accessories at the Parts Department retail and back counter.

Essential Duties:
Provides service to customers and technicians, maintains a cash drawer, fills parts orders and requests, and communicates with customers regarding any special order parts.

Qualifications:
Experience in an automobile dealer parts department, experience working with other employees, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to generate departmental sales and profit.

Parts Inventory Control Clerk/Cashier

Purpose: 
To administer the parts department office and receipt monies.

Essential Duties:
Posts all sales and receipts inventory to the Parts department, orders the special order parts and stock orders, files parts paperwork, fills in at the counter as necessary.

Qualifications:
Experience in sales or general office duties, professional and
courteous demeanor, excellent computer skills, professional appearance.

Shipping Receiving

Purpose: 
Receives incoming merchandise and dispatches outgoing merchandise and parts returns.

Essential Duties:
Receives incoming parts inventory and check for accuracy of quantities of parts and part numbers received, pulls, packs and marks orders for delivery, maintains warehouse, and periodically assists customers.

Qualifications:
Experience in an automobile dealer parts department or equivalent shipping and receiving experience, experience working with other employees, good oral and written communication skills, a good driving record and professional demeanor and appearance.

BODYSHOP

Body Shop Manager

Purpose: 
To develop collision department business through relationships with customers, insurance companies and other sources. The Body Shop manager directs the activities of the other Body Shop employees in performing repairs, managing repair orders, and maintaining quality levels in accordance with stated specifications.

Essential Duties:
Forecast goals and objectives for the department, meet sales and gross profit projections, maintain customer satisfaction, monitor work and employees on a daily basis to insure a steady flow into the shop, and approve and any adjustments to estimates.

Qualifications:
Two years of management experience in a Collision department or equivalent, working knowledge of up to date body repair methods, supervisory experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and professional demeanor and appearance.

Assistant Body Shop Manager

Purpose: 
To assist the Body Shop Manager, write repair estimates, and complete billing to customers.

Essential Duties:
Maintain body shop office activities, write repair estimates, communicate with insurance companies and adjusters, and maintain customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, general knowledge of body repair methods, excellent oral and written communication skills, and professional demeanor and appearance.

Body Shop Clerk

Purpose: 
To write Body Shop repair tickets, assist with billing, and general office responsibilities.

Essential Duties:
Responsible for aiding the Body Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with the daily activities of the collision department, maintain customer satisfaction, communicate with the shop technicians, and work with insurance companies and adjusters.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, general knowledge of body repair methods, excellent oral and written communication skills, and professional demeanor and appearance

Body Shop Foreman

Purpose: 
To maintain the Body Shop equipment, assist the technicians with repairs, dispatch work to the technicians, and insure quality control of the completed repairs.

Essential Duties:
Responsible for assisting the Body Shop Manager in the daily activities of the shop, quality control of the finished jobs, maintain customer satisfaction, review and approve adjustments to shop tickets, and assist with repairs as necessary.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, general knowledge of body repair methods, excellent oral and written communication skills, and professional demeanor and appearance.

Body and Fender Repairman

Purpose: 
To repair minor damage to vehicles as assigned by the Body Shop Manager.

Essential Duties:
Perform body fender repairs according to the estimates, welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidizing operations, and light painting when necessary.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, general knowledge of body repair methods, ASE Certification preferred, 2 years automotive experience and professional demeanor and appearance.

Body Shop Painter

Purpose: 
To repaint damaged vehicles.

Essential Duties:
To paint damaged vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and dealership guidelines, and proper application and mixing of paints for proper matching.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, general knowledge of body repair methods, ASE Certification preferred, 2 years automotive experience and professional demeanor and appearance.

Body Shop Apprentice/Detailer Body Shop

Purpose: 
To assist the Body Shop Painter and other Body Shop personnel.

Essential Duties:
To paint damaged vehicles under the direction of the Painter and inaccordance with the manufacturer's specifications and dealership guidelines, and proper application and mixing of paints for proper matching.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, general knowledge of body repair methods, ASE Certification preferred, 2 years automotive experience and professional demeanor and appearance.

Technician

Purpose: 
To perform Body Shop repairs

Essential Duties:
To diagnose any cause of a malfunction and perform needed repairs, communicate with the parts department to insure parts ordering accuracy, and perform all work outlined on the repair order.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, knowledge of body repair methods, ASE Certification, 2 years automotive experience and professional demeanor and appearance.

Electrostatic Painter

Purpose: 
Operates cone, disc, or nozzle-type electrostatic painting equipment to spray negatively charged paint particles onto positively charged materials.

Essential Duties:
Operate paint equipment in approved manor; inspect completed pieces for quality control, proper application and mixing of paints for proper matching.

Qualifications:
Good oral and written communication skills, ability to understand technical manuals, Knowledge of all aspects of painting body parts and bodies of vehicles, 2 years' experience painting vehicle as an apprentice, ability to use hand tools, and professional demeanor and appearance.

ADMINISTRATIVE/ CLERICAL

Office Manager

Purpose: 
To run the general office and coordinate activities of clerical personnel.

Essential Duties:
Hire, train, and supervise clerical staff, maintain personnel records for all employees prepare payroll and file payroll tax returns, reconcile bank statements, and administer the employee benefits program.

Qualifications:
Accounting and bookkeeping knowledge required, 1 year dealership experience, working knowledge of dealership accounting practices, excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, excellent computer skills, and professional demeanor and appearance.

Accounts Payable Clerk

Purpose: 
To pay all vendor invoices timely

Essential Duties:
Post vendor invoices, balance vendor statements, monitor payment of invoices, maintain dealership sales tax files, coordinate office supplies, file, enter changes to vehicle inventory and report to office manager.

Qualifications:
Accounting and bookkeeping knowledge required. 1 year accounts payable experience, working knowledge of dealership accounting practices, excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, excellent computer skills, and professional demeanor and appearance.

Account Clerk

Purpose: 
Responsible for booking and finalizing all vehicle deals and balancing selected schedules and statements.

Essential Duties:
Posts all new vehicles into accounting and prepares sales commission vouchers, codes internal parts and service tickets, stock in and purchase dealer transfers, maintain vehicle inventory and code and collect manufacturer incentives and rebates.

Qualifications:

Accounts Receivable Clerk

Purpose: 
To verify the work of the cashier from the previous day and handle all accounts receivables.

Receipt all money and prepare daily bank deposits, record all returned checks and run through telecheck for collection, maintain petty cash, relieve switchboard when needed, and assist office manager.

Administrative Assistant

Purpose: 
Support and assist managers, General Manager and Dealer Principal.

Purpose: 
To provide all documentation to financial institutions on the finance contracts and to process dealer trades.

Accounting

Purpose: 
To assist office manager, accounts receivable clerk and accounts payable clerk, verify the work of the cashier from the previous day and handle all accounts receivables.

Essential Duties:
Assist to receipt all money and prepare daily bank deposits, record all returned checks and run through telecheck for collection, maintain petty cash, relieve switchboard when needed, and assist office manager.
